FARMHOUSE
|
The large, comfortable
Farmhouse, built in 1937, is situated so as to offer spectacular views of the
farm. The house has 5 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, a large living and dining area, a well-equipped
kitchen and a wide verandah on two sides. The house is designed
for socializing so the kitchen, lounge and verandah are popular places in which
to meet and relax. The Farmhouse is cool in the summer and is warmed by cozy fireplaces during winter. The lovely
private
gardens offer
tranquillity and peace. |

The Farmhouse has a unique feature in its magical "blue bathroom". Guests can shower in warm sunlight under an accacia tree, looking out onto the tree ferns and terrace gardens. |

The
large, well-equipped kitchen is perfect for self-catering but dinner,
breakfast and lunch
can be supplied on request. Alternatively,
your first groceries can be bought for you so
you can really relax and
enjoy the restful nature of Kurisa Moya.

Various
marked trails of graded difficulty and length lead you through a wide range |
A
most refreshing dip in the Dabchick dam will be a good start to the day or a
cool reward after
a hike through the forest or over the mountain. It will be a 15 minute walk from the Farm
House
to get to the dam.

BIRDING The farm’s varied habitats are home to about 250 species of birds, including the Narina Trogan, the Black-fronted Bush Shrike, the Green Twinspot and the Buff-spotted Flufftail. The Woodbush area is one of the top birding sites as mentioned in Callan Cohen, Claire Spottiswood and Jonathan Rossouw's book South African Birdfinder and Hugh Chittendin’s book, Top Birding Spots in Southern Africa. Top Birdlife SA guide, David Letsoalo is resident on Kurisa Moya so guided birding walks in our indigenous forest or outings in the area can be organized. |
|
FISHING
Our
dam is stocked with trout and Haenertsburg is a nationally renowned trout fishing
area and access can be organized to various dam and river venues where both
rainbow and brown trout may be caught.
