The Forest Lodge
|
Two self-contained wooden log cabins sit high in the canopy of the indigenous forest. From your private deck, three metres up, you are eye-to-eye with the Samango Monkeys picking the ripe fruit from nearby trees and can watch the crimson flash of Knysna Turacos (louries) soaring past. You may see bushpigs and bushbuck drinking from the stream below, or vervet monkeys peering in your bedroom window. |

Each cabin has a fully-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a view. The cabins accommodate a couple comfortably but can sleep up to four, with a double bed downstairs and two single beds in the loft. You can gaze into the forest from your deck, or enjoy the comfort of the fireplace in colder weather. Either way, the views of the forest are spectacular and the privacy complete. The tranquility is only broken by the cries of the Samango monkeys by day and the bushbabies and wood owls at night. Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge is near Magoebaskloof and Woodbush in the Limpopo Province, South Africa. This position extends the indigenous forest on the farm into the Woodbush forest. |

most refreshing dip in the Dabchick dam will be a good start to the day or a
cool reward after a hike through the forest or over the mountain. It will be a 15 minute walk from the Forest

farm’s varied habitats are home to about 250 species of birds, including the
Narina Trogan, the Black-fronted Bush Shrike, the Green Twinspot and the
Buff-spotted Flufftail. The Woodbush area is one of the top birding sites as
mentioned in Callan Cohen,
Claire Spottiswood and Jonathan Rossouw's book South African Birdfinder
and in Hugh Chittendin’s book, Top Birding Spots in
Southern Africa. FISHING
Our
dam is stocked with trout and Haenertsburg is a nationally renowned trout fishing
area and access can be organized to various dam and river venues where both
rainbow and brown trout may be caught. |
