Kurisa Moya is an amazingly beautiful nature lodge in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. This haven is nestled in the Northern Drakensberg escarpment and overlooks the breathtaking Kudu's River Valley. Kurisa Moya is only 45 minutes from the city of Pietersburg / Polokwane and 20 minutes from the mountain village of Haenertsburg and the beautiful Magoebaskloof.  This piece of paradise, truly embodies its XiTsonga name, Kurisa Moya, meaning Tranquil Spirit as it is a place where you can revive your soul.  

The farm measures 422 hectares of extraordinary landscape. Because the farm is situated between the lowveld and the highveld, it enjoys the benefits of both climates and environments. A beautiful indigenous forest nestles in the valley and is home to a large variety of lovely birds, animals and flora. African bushveld is found on the lower part of the farm where two dams are fed by clean mountain streams.

Activities at Kurisa Moya include birding, hiking, adventure mountain-biking and trout fishing in dams where otters and water birds are also found. Samango monkeys, baboons, bushbuck, bushbabies, vervet monkeys, warthogs and bushpigs are often seen or heard on the hiking trails or from the farmhouse. David Letsoalo is the top local bird guide in South Africa and offers guided birding walks and outings on Kurisa Moya and in the area.  In addition, David, Paul and Lisa also offer cranio-sacral therapy, guided nature walks, fly-fishing lessons, village tours and home-stays to name a few services.

Follow the N1 from Johannesburg to Pretoria. Stay on the N1 and follow the signs to Pietersburg / Polokwane. Just before Pietersburg / Polokwane take the Tzaneen R71 off-ramp. 

Go through a traffic light and a 4 way stop and take the slipway to the left next to the highway, turning right at the traffic light onto the R71 towards Tzaneen..About 19.5 km out of Pietersburg / Polokwane, take the slipway to the left to the University of Limpopo, at the Kurisa Moya sign. There is a Sasol Filling Station and a Kentucky Fried Chicken on the opposite corner.

Follow this road for about another 26 km until it becomes a sand or dirt road. (You will pass the University of Limpopo and Mankweng Town and Hospital) Watch out for goats and cows on this strech of road. 500 m after it has become sand, look out on the left for Kurisa Moya's sign. Turn right, pass through the gate and follow the signs to the farmhouse or the Forest Lodge. (The reception can be found just below the guest parking at the end of the Farmhouse road)
