THORA BOLOKA COTTAGE
|
|
Thora Boloka
is crafted with stone from the farm and painted in the colour of the
earth it stands on.
Lintls are
hewn from cedar trees knocked down in the 2000 floods and doorframes are
twisted
gumtree branches as they
are in nature.

The double volume living area is light and airy in summer but cosy with the central fireplace on winter days.

The open-plan
living area is spacious and sociable and the kitchen is well fitted-out for
feasts created
by family and friends.

sleeps six in a double bed and four singles. The decor is African and organic
with stone
and wood mixing harmoniously with ochre and terracotta walls, lizard lights and
African baskets.

There is a
glorious outdoor shower with views into the valley or a really organic indoor

wooden latte doors and handmade washbasins.

| The most incredible views call you to every window and the patio around the cottage draws you outside to marvel at the mountains all around. |
|
|
| At night the distant lights of Magopane and Polokwane merge with the twinkling stars above. |
|
Thora Boloka is
embraced by a koppie where Black Eagles soar and klipspringer and baboons are
often seen. The bushveld habitat is very different to the forest setting of the
cabins and means
lovely warm days and mild nights all through the year.
Windows
everywhere pull the views indoors and the effect is one of nature all around
you. The
rustic iron and wattle light fittings shade the solar lighting. Paraffin
lanterns on the patio provide a
warm atmosphere as you gaze up at the star-lit skies.
